EIfER Europäisches Institut für Energieforschung EDF KIT EWIV (EIFER) is an independent French-German research institute that aims to bridge the gap between science and industry with innovative energy solutions. EIFER has a strong focus on hydrogen as an energy carrier with research and development projects over the entire value chain, from production via distribution to usage.
Dr. Aline Léon, Project manager at EIFER, has identified Insplorion’s NPS technology as a competitive tool in advancing the development of instruments for the hydrogen infrastructure. Insplorion and EIFER now enter a collaboration to increase the knowledge transfer between the two parties.
“Having EIFER as our customer and collaboration partner with the goal to further enhance our NPS technology within the hydrogen sensing field is of course an advancement for us. It once again shows that the NPS platform is strong, not only as a sensor, but also as a research tool when developing sensors. The goal with the collaboration is to improve the performance of future generations of hydrogen sensors”, comments Patrik Dahlqvist, CEO at Insplorion.
The order value is around 0,5 MSEK after a collaboration agreement discount has been applied.

Insplorion AB, with its disruptive sensor platform NanoPlasmonic Sensing (NPS), operates within four field;. air quality sensors, hydrogen sensors, battery sensors and research instruments. The sensors are small, durable and cost efficient at volume production. Our sensor technology enables air quality sensors at home, in cars and in public environment, Our hydrogen sensors show a sub-second response time, making them the fastest in the world and will promote the growth of hydrogen infrastructure. The battery sensor optimizes battery control and usage. Our instruments give scientists around the world nanometer sensitive real time data of surface processes in fields like catalysis, material- and life science.
