Remote Installation at Ben Gurion University of the Negav

September 3, 2020

The most affected segment within our company is definitely our instrument sales. Closed labs and travel restrictions has shifted our work to video calls and planning demos with researchers. Luckily, as the world starts to open up and we are taking the next step and doing demos and installations (albeit still remotely until we are allowed to travel)!

We recently sold an Acoulyte to Professor Moshe Herzberg and his group at the Department of Desalination and Water Treatment (DWT) at Ben Gurion University of the Negav in Israel. I prefer to do installation and training in the customer’s lab, since you will get a better interaction and it is easier to give the right training. And honestly, after googling the campus which is in the Israeli desert, in Beersheba, I wanted to go even more – it looks amazing! But due to SARS-CoV-2, we had to stay in Gothenburg. So Patrik B and I did the installation via a Zoom call.

We set up our own Acoulyte in a conference room, so we could do a dry example measurement simultaneously with Moshe and his colleague Dr. Revital Sharon-Gojman. Then we tried to help them through each step of the instrument usage and software handling. We are very happy with the installation (given the circumstances). The instrument is in safe and experienced hands, and we look forward on data coming out of their lab! Hopefully our paths will cross in the future, and we can have a proper old-school meeting as well. Best of luck to Professor Herzberg and his group!
